Workshop Renovation 2005 October 01, 2005 Finally cut the wall to make room for the new door. Not too bad for an amateur !
And a few hours later ... the new door !
October 02, 2005 Although my heart is into finishing the door on my workshop, pressure was applied to finish some work in the kitchen, so I began working on the last wallboard area. Below is the insulation finally completed. I was able to use the insulation I pulled from the workshop when I installed the new door:
Now to put up the wallboard ...
I also drew a diagram of the inside of this wall so I will be able to find the extra 2 X 4's I put in to assist with hanging pictures and other things ... here it is for future reference:
October 08 - 09, 2005 Installed my doorknob and lock on the new workshop door this weekend ... it works and everything !
Also put up the wallboard above the door ...
Then I had to do a few things inside the house ... sighhhhhhhhhhhhhhh ... got two of three glass shelves installed at the end of the hallway:
And installed the beveled glass in the door of this thing hanging on the wall in the bedroom ... also attached a magnetic door catch so the door won't swing open when it wants to.
October 23, 2005 Started working on my coke and coffee bar in the workshop today. Built the frame and wired the first outlet. Need to get more wood so I can the other portion to make it L-shaped. The refrigerator will be underneath and some shelves will be installed on the end.

October 29 - 30, 2005 Time to repair the water damage we have gotten in the sunroom ... had to rip out the ceiling and find out what was going on ... after consulting with some experts, the can lights need to be moved out from between the skylights (the heat can cause condensation on the windows), would benefit from putting in a ridge vent on the house to move the air better, and the skylights need to be modified due to the slope of the roof. There is also a problem with the gutter system outside that will need to be fixed.
