Workshop Renovation 2006 March 4, 2006 Finished the hallway light project ... got the light installed, with much difficulty I might add (who writes the instructions for installations anyway ???). In any event, the light is working as planned, and I also got the bottom glass shelf in place.
March 5, 2006 With temperatures in the 60's, I ventured out to my workshop and began the tile installation for the coffee and coke bar. Had to do a little cutting to get some of it to fit, but my trusty wet saw did the job !
March 11 - 12, 2006 I completed the top level of the coke and coffee bar on Saturday, then grouted it on Sunday. Started working on the lower level and decided to put a pegboard up along the back. This had more to do with making the tile look good (not having to cut small edge pieces) than it did with any amazing planning for tool access on the lower level.
After building the pegboard frame, I decided that the top and side of the frame would look better tiled, so I cut and installed tile there. You have to admit, it does look good !
Being bored with just making straight cuts, I challenged myself with a hole in the top so I can have easy access to the outlet beneath the bar:
And the finishing touch:
Now I just have to finish the wallboard work, paint the walls gray and the trim red, and it will be ready to use ! I may have to live out here ... starting to look too good to leave without inhabitants !
March 19 - 20, 2006 Well, I got the lower section of the coke and coffee bar grouted this weekend. Also managed to install edging along the top section, corner trim along the pegboard section, and get some of the basic bar trim painting done. Yes, it is starting to look good !
March 25 - 26, 2006 Still working on the coke and coffee bar. Got most of the walls painted and most of the trim installed. Still have some baseboard to cut and attach, then this will be finished ! Except for some wiring ...
