Workshop Renovation

July 5, 2003

Getting ready to start some outside projects, but this turtle appeared to be defending his homeland.  He moseyed along after awhile, so I was able to get started.

We were able to acquire some old deck fencing from a neighbor, and it is now my job to transform it into various decorative enhancements around the yard.  The first task undertaken was the well.  The two 4" X 4" posts were already here, designed to protect the well from people who like to back into it (yes, it happened TWICE before I put these up !).  Taking parts of the donated fencing, I was able to create this masterpiece, and even painted it (two coats, no less !).

Here is some more of the donated fencing ... now all I have to do is adapt it to fit around Zack's parking space.  This will take longer than you might think !

Cindy decided she wanted some sort of decorative fence in her garden.  Of course, the fence has to go where this pile of pebbles is currently residing.  Time to move hundreds (thousands ??) of pebbles AGAIN !  Sighhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh ...

Well, managed to get the new garden fence up without moving all the pebbles ..... and, yes, it is level !  See below for another view:

Now I just have to tackle the fence that will go around Zack's parking space.  That one will require a bit more time ... hope to get to it this month.

Night Sky Workshop for Hire Continued

The newly added wood has now been primed, and is drying for the final coat(s) of paint to complete this project.  Yes, it is an amazing job !

The repaired portions look so good, the customer will probably have to paint her entire front porch to make it all match !

Back to work in my yard today, I began the process of installing the new fence around Zack's parking space.  Notice the NEW post level I have !  Heehee .... I love new tools !

July 19, 2003

The third side of the parking space was lower than the other two sides, so I had to build it up a bit.  Realizing this may create a potential weak area, I drove two stakes a few feet into the ground plus used several galvanized corner braces.

With the front secured in place, and the third side leveled, I am now ready to add the second piece of fence.

And here it is ... starting to look fairly wonderful !  Hopefully I can get the third (and last) side up this week.
