Casey

September 7, 1993 - October 19, 2005

Casey, our beagle since she was a puppy, was put to sleep just before midnight on October 19, 2005.  She was beginning to show some signs of aging ... preferred to sleep under the deck instead of chasing squirrels.  She was not able to walk this evening, most likely due to some problems with her spinal cord, and appeared to be suffering and confused.  She will be cremated and her ashes spread among her favorite places in the back yard.

Below is a picture of her dog pen.  If you look closely near the gate opening, you will see the sock I gave her on her last night in an effort to comfort her.

In the far back corner of her pen was one of her favorite places to sleep during the day.  She spent so much time there, she wore a hole in the ground and conformed to her body so she could relax the day away.  Some of her ashes will be spread at this location.
